Admission Criteria for B.Tech.

10+2(Non-Medical) with Physics and Mathematics as compulsory subjects and one of the following subjects:

	Chemistry
	Biology
	Computer Science
	Biotech

Government Seats (2/3rd): The admission shall be made on the basis of AIEEE Test as per the guidelines of Punjab Govt.

Management Seats (1/3rd): Direct admission shall be made as per the norms of Punjab Govt/PTU Jalandhar.

STATE GOVERNMENT QUOTA

Admission is made on the basis of AIEEE merit for 85% Punjab Residents and 15% Seats on the basis of AIEEE merit for other State Quota... 2/3rd seats are filled through the central counseling conducted by PTU, while 1/3rd management quota seats are filled by the college. The statutory Reservations are given in detail in the PTU Information Brochure 2011.

MANAGEMENT QUOTA

As per the government of Punjab Notification No.13/129/2003-1 TE2/1030 dated 5.4.2004; there is a "Management Quota" to the tune of 33.3% (one third of the total seats). The Management shall fill these seats as per Pb. Govt. /PTU norms as given below

1.	Merit in All India Engineering Entrance Examination (AIEEE)-2011
2.	Marks secured in the qualifying examination

.For admission to these seats, an advertisement is published in two newspapers (English and Punjabi).

ADMISSION OF INTERNATIONAL CANDIDATES

Admission of NRI/PIO/Foreign National Candidates will be based on merit in 10+2 (Non Medical) or equivalent examination.

The international students will be admitted under Management Quota.

1.	The candidates against NRI/PIO seats will be admitted on merit determined on the basis of marks obtained in the qualifying examination. They shall not be required to take AIEEE Test.
2.	First preference shall be given to those NRI/PIO candidates who are having ancestral Punjab resident background.
3.	Second preference shall be given to those NRI/PIO candidates who are having ancestral background relating to other States of India.
4.	Third preference shall be given to those resident candidates who are sponsored by an NRI/PIO and the sponsorship letter is attached with their application.
5.	Fourth preference shall be given to those resident Indian candidates who are ready to pay fees in Indian Currency.

5% of total sanctioned seats out of management quota seats shall be filled from NRI/PIO/Foreign National Student as per Punjab Govt. notification number 13/129/2003-1TE2/1030 dated 05.04.2004 and 13/129/03/13fR" 2/1829 dated 20.06.2008.

ADMISSION BASED ON LEET-2011: There are 20% seats, as under, in each B. Tech. program for admission of diploma holder to 2nd year /3rd semester. The admission to 2/3'd seats will be made by the Punjab Technical University. Management Quota seats shall be filled in accordance with the criteria, as laid down by PTU. For detailed information, the candidates must refer to LEET 2011 Information Brochure.

DURATION OF THE DEGREE: The duration of the degree of Bachelor of Technology course will be four years, divided into eight semesters. The duration of each semester will be 20 weeks, according to the following schedule;

August to December	Odd Semester (1,3,5,7)
January to May	Even Semester (2,4,6,8)
June to July	Summer workshop/ Industrial Training/ Tours etc. .

Admission Criteria for MBA

Eligibility:

The candidates should have passed any Bachelor's Degree from a university recognized by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi in order to become eligible for MBA regular course of PTU, Jalandhar.

Government Seats (2/3rd): The admission shall be made on the basis of State Level Management Entrance Test (MET-2011).
Management Seats (1/3rd): Direct admission shall be made as per the norms of PTU, Jalandhar and Punjab Govt.

Admission Criteria for MCA

Eligibility:

The candidates should have passed BCA or any Bachelor’s Degree with Maths in 10+2/ Degree level from the university recognized by Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi in order to become eligible for MCA regular course of PTU, Jalandhar.

Government Seats (2/3rd): The admission shall be made on the basis of State Level MET/PAM/CAT (2011).
Management Seats (1/3rd): Direct admission shall be made as per the norms of PTU, Jalandhar and Punjab Govt.

Admission Criteria for M. Tech:

Eligibility: As per the norms of PTU.
